Plac Jasne Błonia

     Plac Jasne Błonia to rozległy zieleniec w Szczecinie, usytuowany na północ od Urzędu Miejskiego, ograniczony ulicami Michała Ogińskiego, Karola Szymanowskiego i Stanisława Moniuszki. Zajmuje teren, który w latach 1925-1927 należał do rodziny Quistorpów.

      Po bokach trawnika zaprojektowano aleje z platanami klonolistnymi, z których 213 drzew tworzy największe w Polsce skupisko tego gatunku. Plac, pierwotnie nazwany Quistorp-Aue, jest związany z ważnymi wydarzeniami historycznymi, w tym masowymi uroczystościami z 1946 roku i spotkaniem z Nikitą Chruszczowem w 1959. W 1979 roku, na przedłużeniu placu, powstał Pomnik Czynu Polaków.

      W 1987 roku, podczas wizyty papieża Jana Pawła II w Szczecinie, na Jasnych Błoniach odprawiona została msza. W 1995 roku plac otrzymał imię Jana Pawła II, a w pobliżu ustawiono jego pomnik.
